Business Development Representative
Who You Are / Your Next Challenge
Defense.com, an innovative and expanding Cyber Security specialist, is looking to recruit a Business Development Executive, based remotely near London, to join our team. Ideally stemming from a B2B (Business-to-Business) sales background, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to target and prospect potential customers with a view to arranging client-facing meetings for our broader sales team.
You will spend the majority of your time calling people out of the blue, so you’ll need to win them over quickly and explain technical products in a concise manner. Success will come from building up trust, rapport, and suggesting products and packages to help solve the prospects pain points and secure an order.
Key to the role is the ability to quickly build rapport, understand potential client needs and position solutions effectively, and there will be a priority focus on generating business via outbound activities and calls.
We are looking for someone who has a natural flair to build rapport and understand potential client needs and position solutions effectively. Therefore previous experience generating business via outbound activities and calls is essential. This is a perfect position for someone who wants to embark on a sales career within a hugely exciting and fast-growing industry. With a competitive base salary plus a generous uncapped commission scheme, which is achievable, the role Defense.com, we believe, offers a great opportunity for an individual to forge ahead in their sales career in a market that is primed for growth. An overview of the main duties has been provided below:
• Conduct outbound sales activities including telephoning prospects, sending strategic emails, social media engagement, and qualifying sales opportunities;
• Set up meetings between sales and prospective clients;
• Assist Sales and Marketing with events and meetups with a focus on lead generation;
• With a customer-centric approach, progress clients through our sales process, including gathering sales intelligence and objection handling;
• Record all sales activity in our CRM (we use Pipedrive);
• Build and maintain a pipeline of live opportunities.
• Attend local networking and security events.
What we’re looking for / Skills that will help you in the role
• Prior sales experience, ideally in a B2B telesales environment
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely whilst building rapport and trust
• Customer-centric approach to sales; understanding their needs and drivers with the ability to handle objections and remove barriers
• Positive and engaging telephone manner
• Strong Microsoft Office skills with experience of using a CRM (experience of Pipedrive would be ideal)
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks at any given time
• Pro-active and enthusiastic with a can do attitude
• Good commercial acumen
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a team player
• Experience of working in IT or Cyber Security sales would be a significant advantage
• Knowledge of technology would be a significant advantage
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to take on a key role within the Sales team, who is keen to deliver results through high impact commercial communications with clients within an established growing international organisation, and provides amazing scope for both strategic and operational self-development.
